Synopsis
In this talk, I will explain the basics of a quantum computer and its hardware implementation requirements. There are many proposed quantum systems that promise to satisfy these implementation requirements. Two of the popular architectures that satisfy these requirements are superconducting circuits and trapped ions. I will give a brief overview of these architectural designs and discuss their advantages and disadvantages.
