'Picture a Scientist' Discussion

Synopsis

On February 15^th the Faculty of Science and the Sexual Violence Support and Prevention Office are partnering to facilitate a 45-minute facilitated discussion of the documentary Picture a Scientist. This documentary, available for viewing through the SFU Library or Netflix, tackles the reality and issues of gender equity, inclusivity, and safety in STEM. The discussion will both debrief the documentary and start thinking through our analysis of the root causes and theories of change to make STEM safer, more diverse, and more equitable. Participants will also learn more about the SFU units, services, and supports that are engaged in this work currently. To fully participate you must watch the film Picture a Scientist prior to the discussion.
