Using wormholes and quantum mechanics to enter an entangled black hole

Synopsis
There are solutions to Einstein's field equations of General Relativity in which two far away black holes are connected by wormholes, or Einstein-Rosen bridges. There is a proposed conjecture that these solutions can be thought of as maximally entangled states of two black holes. This is known as the ER = EPR conjecture and it was used to resolve firewalls in maximally entangled black holes, which would otherwise make the black holes impenetrable. This conjecture can be generalised to suggest that wormholes connect a black hole with a region of space. It could be generalised further to suggest that any entangled pairs of particles are connected by microscopic wormholes. This geometry-entanglement relationship could shed light on the relationship between gravity and quantum mechanics.
