Walking with coffee: Why does it spill?
Jan 12, 2018 at 1:30PM
Synopsis
We are all familiar with the scenario that while walking with a cup of coffee, more often if we are not careful, we may spill the drink. This phenomenon is systematically studied and the conditions under which the spillage occurs is analyzed. This problem is found to be an example of the interplay between biomechanics of walking, liquid sloshing engineering and dynamical systems.
