New sound absorption tube lets in light and air
Jan 12, 2018 at 1:30PM
Synopsis
Sound absorbers are widely used in industry. However, there might be a need of air and wind to pass through. Recently, an asymmetric sound absorber has been realized. Such a system has been numerically and experimentally shown to reflect sound of specific frequency in one direction while absorbing the sound in the other direction with 96% efficiency. In this talk, I will give an overview on the design and fabrication of this sound absorber.
