798 signed up for "7 Rainier - Ball Park", an actual destination in the 1940s and 1950s. Here, the trolley did a short loop making a u-turn on NE Campus Parkway at Brooklyn Ave. NE, returning to 15th Ave. NE, then doing another u-turn. The trolley is seen here returning to the photo-stop location. The driver forgot to blank the signs, and an anxious rider waiting for a 7 downtown asked if this bus was going downtown. Sorry, but he couldn't board_as normal fare paying passenger. The ball park loop on Rainier Ave. S. near S. McClellan St. was installed for baseball game riders going to Sick's Stadium. It included a passing wire on Rainier Ave., so regular trolleys could pass the ball park trolleys, of which there were many in the early days. Today, Sick's Stadium is long gone and there is no need for a loop here. In the distance is one of the ornate buildings of the University of Washington. Photo by R. C. DeArmond. 20 JL 2003.
798 signed up for "7 Rainier - Prentice" in the locations as the above picture. Prentice was the end of the line in the original system (Seattle Transit System) and after an 18 year hiatus it became the end of rebuilt route 7 (Metro), following the original route to a tee, except for a few loops.
