Celebrate SFU’s October 2022 convocation
With the fall days getting shorter and the leaves beginning to change, it’s time again to celebrate our graduands during SFU’s annual October convocation.
More than 1,800 graduands will cross the stage in their gowns and mortarboards during four ceremonies, held Oct. 6 and 7 on Burnaby Campus. As they celebrate their achievements with their family and friends, we’ll be sharing some stories about these amazing graduands from across our eight faculties and Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Scroll down to read these stories of our newest alumni.
To learn more visit SFU’s convocation website. It’s full of useful information for those attending the ceremonies, including tips for graduands, schedules and where to park. You can also read more about our outstanding student speakers.
Every year, SFU confers honorary degrees to distinguished individuals in recognition of their scholarly, scientific or artistic achievement or to recognize their substantial contributions to the public good. This fall, SFU is conferring degrees on Afua Cooper, Michelle Good, Rupert Raj and SFU’s chancellor emeritus Anne Giardini. Read more about these incredible individuals. You can also catch Afua Cooper for an evening of conversation and poetry on Oct. 11, 2022 in a Dean's Lecture on Information and Society.
If you can’t make convocation in person, please join us on YouTube, as the ceremonies will all be broadcast live.
