Admission to Graduate Certificate or Diploma

Minimum Equivalent Qualifications

For admission to a Graduate Certificate or Diploma the requirement is a degree equivalent to a Simon Fraser University 4-year bachelor’s degree with a minimum overall grade equivalent to a B-.

Admission to Master's Program

Minimum Equivalent Qualifications

For admission to a master’s program, the qualifications listed are normally recognized as equivalent to a Simon Fraser University 4-year bachelor’s degree with minimum overall grade requirements.

Most SFU graduate programs will assess a Bologna compliant degree as equivalent to a 4-year degree.

Required Credential or Degree

Honours Bachelor's degree (usually 3 year programs) (and Special Bachelor's degree from Ireland). At some universities, Certificate of Advanced Study may be equivalent to a master’s degree

B on ECTS; Second Class Honours, Upper Division

Documentation

Applicants must arrange for the submission of official statements from the University Registrar indicating program of study, courses taken and grades achieved are required. An attested copy of the degree certificate showing class and division of degree awarded must also be submitted.

To be official, original documents must arrive together in official envelopes which have been sealed and endorsed by the issuing institution.

English Language Proficiency Test

Applicants with a degree from this country are exempt from submitting proof of English Language competency if the degree was completed at an institution where the language of instruction and examination was in English.
