Conclusion This project has successfully displayed the variety of applications that Geographic Information Systems software can perform. Questions can be answered with the proper data and the knowledge of the theory behind Geographic Information Science. Most application tools in a GIS program are based on simple principles. Data that is displayed are just a combination of zeros and ones that code to produce images. The new area for development is finalized through further study of prime sites. Research directly at the site is important in selecting a new location, GIS is only a tool to narrow down the choices based on a collective criteria. In the end a visual map is produced and knowledge of the area is extracted without having to physically be there. |
