Introduction


The current project to install a network of interpretive centers throughout the regional park. A new location will be determined using the assistance of Geographical Information Science. The center will provide an educational outlet for people of all ages to better manage the logging process, understand the various fire hazards, and environmental concerns for natural habitat destruction.

The prime location of the center will be based on several criteria listed below.

  1. Located within the forest (management basin)
  2. Proximity to transportation routes
  3. a) highways (easy accessibility)
    b) railroads (transport of people and construction materials)
    c) paved roads (reduce the cost)
    d) rock roads (easy access into forest and can be built over)
  4. Buffer zone around streams and rivers (reduce the effects on  fish habitat)
  5. Shallow slope (reduce the cost of development)
