This photo of Tibetan monks was taken near Dharamshala in Northern India on Triund Hill in the Himalayas. The Dalai Lama's residence and the headquarters of the exiled Tibetan government are situated at McLeodGanj, a village within Dharamshala.
Third Place
Cory Lagasse, School of Resource and Environmental Management
At a field course on Calvert Island, B.C., we explored beaches and picked up garbage that washed ashore. Even though the islands are isolated, we managed to fill dozens of garbage bags - mostly styrofoam blocks and old fishing gear.
Honourable Mention
Angela Jang, English
This photo was taken from the Eiffel Tower in Paris while on a co-op placement as an English language assistant in France. Despite differences between Canadian and French culture, everyone is under one sky and sun in the Parisian cityscape.
Honourable Mention
Maria Asselin-Roy, Sociology/Anthropology
This photo, taken in the hills of Belize bordering Guatemala, is from a field school of Douglas College and SFU students based out of Galen University in San Ignacio, Belize. It was taken at the end of a hike to the anthropological Mayan site of Lower Dover.
