Writing with Confidence
New to creative writing, or returning to it after a long absence? This course will demystify the writing process and introduce you to a variety of tools you can use to get words on the page. Over ten weeks, you’ll learn how to keep a notebook, freewrite effectively and use everything from prompts to your own reading to generate ideas. You’ll also tackle some of the blocks that are keeping you from making progress, and begin to build writing into your life in meaningful and sustainable ways. Add to that a supportive community and deadlines to keep you motivated and accountable and you’ll have everything you need call yourself a writer. Hello, writer!

- Take an initial idea through the stages of composition and revision

How you will learn and be evaluated
Each week you will:
- Read the weekly module
- Complete additional reading, as assigned
- Complete a writing assignment (approximately 500 words)
- Participate in a discussion based on your reading (approximately 250 words)
This course is graded using a competency-based grading scale.
