The Art of the Micro Memoir: Writing Your Life in 100 Words

When everything is too big, write small! Micro memoirs capture seemingly insignificant moments in a life and reveal their importance. They combine truth-telling with narrative tension and can add excitement and texture to your life story. This genre is particularly suited to exploration of a moment that seems small or unimportant, but, with the right perspective and attention, reveals itself to be central to identity. Join us for a one-day workshop to learn micro memoir techniques that illuminate those hidden moments that make us who we are.

Note: This full-day workshop incorporates a 90-minute lunch break where students will work on writing their micro memoirs. Students will be responsible for providing their own lunches.

This workshop will be offered at Harbour Centre on Saturday, Sep 21, from 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
