Preparation for the IELTS
Do you plan to immigrate, study or work in an English-speaking environment? Completing the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam is a necessary step to assess your English language skills.
This course will prepare you for the exam by focusing on the four key skills that will be tested: listening, reading, writing and speaking. You will learn how to describe graphs, tables and diagrams, and read different articles. You will also improve your understanding of grammar, build academic vocabulary, and practise speaking and listening.
Note: This course is designed for learners of English as an additional language (EAL).

What you will learn
After completing this course, you’ll be able to do the following:
- Listen and take notes on what you hear
- Learn and use vocabulary within academic settings
- Read and understand different texts from magazines, journals, books and newspapers
- Read and understand different graphs, tables and charts
- Apply basic rules of grammar
- Write letters and essays on a variety of topics
- Present your opinion in writing on different themes
- Communicate clearly orally with accurate pronunciation
- Listen carefully about a topic and respond to express preferences and reasons for your opinions
How you will learn and be evaluated
- Prepare to spend 3 hours a week in the course, often working in groups or in pairs, and sometimes individually
- Expect on average 2 hours a week of homework, more when you are preparing for quizzes, tests and exams

Technical Requirements
