Please join us in congratulating Pat Frouws, Executive Director, on her upcoming retirement in June 2019. To ensure a seamless transition, Simon Fraser University (SFU) will create a search committee and engage with our stakeholders over the coming months as we launch the search for our next SFU Childcare Society Executive Director.

For the past fourteen years, Pat has played a critical role in the growth and transformation of the SFU Childcare Society’s organization’s mission, values and programming. When Pat joined SFU Childcare in the summer of 2004, we were at the beginning of a period of significant change and growth, and her leadership has helped the organization to achieve many significant accomplishments.

With Pat at the helm, SFU Childcare Society has greatly increased its impact. Not only has the number of families and organizations we work with grown, but the depth and breadth of work has increased. By providing children with a place to develop their potential through freedom to explore and engage the world around them, we have been able to build a strong, respectful, collaborative and reflective community, which values children at its heart.

Please join us on behalf of SFU and the SFUCCS Board in thanking Pat for her leadership and significant contributions to SFU Childcare Society. We will be celebrating Pat and the contribution she has made to SFU Childcare Society as her retirement date approaches. 

The SFU Childcare Society Board of Directors is keenly aware that leadership transitions present both risks and opportunities. To that end, SFU will lead the selection process for the next Executive Director. We will be circulating the posting for the SFU Childcare Society’s Executive Director Position in the near future and look forward to continuing in our mission to lead excellence in Early Care and Learning in a sustainable way.
