Carolyn Hanna is the Senior Director, International Services for Students (ISS), responsible for providing leadership to the University community on matters related to the recruitment and retention of international students, international academic study abroad programming and the international & newcomer student experience. In addition to overseeing ISS programs and services, as a member of the Student Services Senior Management team, she advises the Vice-Provost & Associate VP, Students & International and university executive on SFU’s broader internationalization priorities and participates in international strategic enrolment management planning.
Carolyn has been a proud member of the SFU community for the last 17 years. She is currently serving as an active member of the Senate Committee on International Activities and as a staff representative for the Human Rights Policy Board. In 2014, she was the recipient of the Dean of Graduate Studies Award for Excellence in Graduate Service.
A graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Asian Area Studies program, Carolyn is also professionally accredited through the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council.
