Isabelle Côté appointed OFFA's Associate Director - Education

Ms. Côté has nearly 20 years of experience in education. She is a Senior Lecturer at SFU’s Faculty of Education and has been involved in teacher education programs since 2006. Her expertise is in the didactics of teaching in French as a Second Language (FSL), Immersion, and Francophone programs as well as in the didactics of social studies. Ms. Côté completed her doctorate in education at SFU, focusing her research on the integration of Indigenous perspectives in the French Immersion program. She worked for several years for the New Westminster School District as a teacher, and also as a French program coordinator.

Ms. Côté, who joins the OFFA executive team, will be responsible for contributing to the development, coordination and promotion of the undergraduate and graduate programs offered in French at the Faculty of Education at SFU. She will also actively work on issues related to the recruitment and retention of French language teachers in the province and continue to teach in the Faculty of Education.
