DESIGN UPDATE
During the month of November, a cost estimate update was prepared based on the latest design of the new building to provide insight on market pricing. Unstable market conditions and supply chain issues are impacting construction costs.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Demolition of the Strand Hall Annex temporary structure is underway in preparation for the new First Peoples’ Gathering House. To demonstrate sustainable construction practice, where possible, materials are being salvaged for re-use and remaining demolition wastes are being separated into different streams with the goal to divert materials from the landfill.
COMMITTEE UPDATE
The Steering Committee will be meeting in December to discuss costing and schedule updates on the project.
