The winners of the 2012 Best Paper Award were: Tina Comes, Niek Wijngaards, and Frank Schultmann, from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Thales Research and Technology, for their paper titled "Efficient Scenario Updating in Emergency Management"

The winner for the 2012 Mike Melishkin Best Student Paper Award was: Felix Wex from Albert-Ludwigs University for his paper titled "Operational Emergency Response under Informational Uncertainty: A Fuzzy Optimization Model for Scheduling and Allocating Rescue Units" coauthored with Guido Schryen and Dirk Neumann.
