OrganizersValorie Crooks is a health geographer who is involved in health services research. She joined SFU’s Department of Geography in 2006 and is currently an assistant professor. Ilja Tromp-van Meerveld is a hydrologist who focuses on hillslope and watershed hydrology, ecohydrology, and soil erosion. She joined SFU’s Department of Geography in 2006 and is currently an assistant professor. Conference Advisory Committee Freya Kristensen is a PhD candidate in SFU’s Department of Geography. Her research focuses on sustainable cities and transnational city networks. She has an MA in International Development Studies from the University of Northern British Columbia. Fiona Lawson is an MSc student who joined SFU's Department of Geography in 2010. Her research focuses on access to health care services using GIS. Jamison Miller started his MA in SFU’s Department of Geography in 2009. His interests surround art and creativity in the urban context, and his current research is focused on the Vancouver Art Gallery and its proposed relocation in downtown Vancouver. Cristina Temenos is a first year PhD student in SFU’s Department of Geography. Her current research focuses on harm reduction policy in North America and Europe. She received an MA from the SFU Department of Geography in 2007. Her MA thesis focused on municipal sustainability policy in resort communities.
