Can I go to the border (flagpole) to apply for my PGWP?
As of June 21, 2024, IRCC announced that foreign nationals can no longer apply for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) at a port of entry including flagpoling. Applicants can still apply for their PGWP online via the IRCC website.
For more information, visit the IRCC website (refer to the section on "Port of entry").
For step-by-step instructions on how to apply for a PGWP online from inside Canada, visit our Instruction Guides (see under 'Visas and Permits').
