Location
SFU Guest Accommodations room spaces are located within the SFU Residence and Housing Community. The Simon is connected to one of our Residence Buildings and there may be unexpecated disturbances from time to time.
Please note that the Courtyard Residence Building aligns with the current BC Building and Fire Codes. The system is on a shared network which includes both the low-rise and high-rise sections of this buidling. There is no tobacco or cannabis smoking permitted within any residential building located on campus. Smoking and other tobacco and cannabis use is now restricted to University Designated Outdoor Smoking Areas (DOSA). Separate DOSAs exist for tobacco and cannabis smoking. These areas are available on a map located on the SFU Smoking on Campus section of the Safety and Risk Services website found here: https://www.sfu.ca/srs/work-research-safety/general-safety/smoking.html. These areas are also outlined in the SFU Conference and Guest Accommodations Guide for Guests. This updated policy replaces the previous allowance of tobacco smoking 10 meters away from any building or air intake. Guests/Clients who do not respect the policy will be charged for extra cleaning and will be required to vacate the premises immediately.
