Multi-field DBI inflation: primordial perturbations and non-Gaussianities
In this talk I discuss some aspects of multiple-field inflation, and more specifically so-called Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) inflation. DBI inflation emerges when one tries to embed inflation in a string-theory setting, and is based on the motion of a brane in a higher dimensional space-time: the directions in which the brane can move correspond to the different inflationary fields. We discuss the (correct!) action for DBI-inflation and then calculate some of its observational cosmological consequences, particularly for non-gaussianities in the CMB.
