This map shows the locations of all events of the summer school, and the location of the main meeting. Click on each of the blue markers to see the address and further information.
Arrival and Accomodation
Participants are expected to arrive at the Summer School on Sunday May 5, 2013 evening. The summer school starts the next morning. Students who are only attending the Summer School are expected to depart on the evening of Wednesday May 8th. Students who are staying to attend the main meeting are expected to depart on the evening of Saturday May 11th. If you have alternate arrival and departure times, please be sure to indicate this on your registration form.
The summer school will be held at the Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites, 1763 Comox St, Vancouver, BC V6G 1P5.
From the airport, the cheapest and also easiest way to downtown Vancouver is by public transit. The Canada Line train goes right into the airport and leaves every 5-10 minutes. You should get a train towards Waterfront and get off at the "Yaletown-Roundhouse" station (approximately 30 minutes). From there, you can either walk (2.2km) or take the C23 bus. The transit ticket you buy at the airport is also good for the bus. Alternatively a taxi from Yaletown-Roundhouse to the hotel should cost about $10-12 with tip. CIFAR has specific and detailed travel rules about reimbursing travel expenses, please familiarize yourself with these rules.

Welcome Reception
A welcome reception will be held on Sunday May 5th. Snacks will be available, but a participants should not expect a full meal.
Breakfast & Lunch
Please note that breakfasts and lunches will be provided at the conference facility for the whole duration of the summer school and main meeting; therefore CIFAR will not reimburse for these meals.
Lectures, Coffee Breaks and Poster Sessions
Coffee & tea will be provided throughouht the summer school sessions. Details on the lectures and poster sessions will be forthcoming.
Social Dinner
A group dinner is being arranged for either May 6 or 7th for all QMSS 2013 participants. The cost of this meal is included in the cost of the summer school. On evenings where a dinner is not scheduled, the maximum CIFAR will reiburse for a dinner is $35.00.
Main Meeting
The main meeting will take place on May 9-11th. Student participants are invited to attend the sessions, but their is an additional registration fee for attending the main meeting (see the about page for more details about the fees.
