Position: Event Manager

How and when did you arrive at SFU?

I started in the temp pool at SFU about 17 years ago - my first position was as the University's phone switchboard agent - dial 0 and you would have found me there.

What’s your favourite part of working at MECS?

I enjoy how we work in a team both within MECS and with other departments in the University.

What achievement at MECS are you most proud of?

I love being a part of Convocation behind the scenes. Seeing all of the graduating students and their families all coming together to celebrate their achievements.

What’s your best piece of meeting, event or conference advice?

Try to feed your guests. Even if it is something small try to budget in some nibblies as guests always enjoy some tasty snacks

What is one fun or unexpected fact about you?

I love to travel and also enjoy watching soccer. Soccer is a sport that I never played while growing up but all three of my daughters ended up playing it. I have been lucky enough combine my two passions, travelling to other countries and watching soccer games in other cities and countries.
