Short Biographical Sketch
I was born and raised in Toronto, with Mom (Dorothy Matilda King), Dad (Angus Donald MacKenzie), brother Donald (Danielle), sister Barbara (Paul), and best friend Sam (Gary). I am married to Ron Marteniuk, have 4 children, Anne, Kim, Lisa, Jason, and 2 grandchildren, Sydney and Jayme.

I attended Glen Rush Elementary, Ledbury Park Junior High, and Sir Sandford Fleming Secondary schools in Toronto. At the University of Waterloo, I became fascinated with psychomotor behaviour, brain-behaviour relations, computer science and statistics, human factors, human motor, cognitive, language, musical skills, and research. Few know I am a fully qualified bartender, and I also attended clown school! After 10 years on faculty at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, I moved to Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, on Canada's west coast. At SFU, my research interests in human grasping expanded to include remote manipulation in human-computer interaction, and endoscopic surgery.

I am blessed with wonderful family, dear friends, close colleagues, great students and a career that enables me to continuously learn and grow! Carpe diem!
