Graduate Degree Programs
Below is a list of Departments and Schools at SFU that offer Graduate Diploma, Master's and Doctoral Programs. For detailed information on a program, click on a Department or School of interest and contact them directly. Next to each link an icon indicates the campus location of the program (i.e.,Burnaby, Surrey, Vancouver).
Exceptionally able students may also pursue graduate studies outside or between existing graduate programs by enrolling under Special Arrangements. These programs are administered by the Dean of Graduate Studies. In addition, study under cohort-based Special Arrangements is available to meet the educational needs of specific student groups in fulfilling the requirements for a master's degree, where these needs cannot be met within existing programs and where appropriate resources exist within the university. Please contact the office of the Dean of Graduate Studies (phone: 778-782-3042) for an application package.
Admission to SFU's graduate programs is highly competitive. Many students may find that the research in the discipline they wish to pursue is conducted in many departments across SFU. For example, faculty members whose research involves molecular biology can be found in the Departments of : Molecular Biology and Biochemistry; Biological Sciences: Chemistry; Computing Science; and Kinesiology plus others.
Therefore, students are encouraged to apply to more than one program.
