Halloween Trick or Treat Event: Team Leader (Honorarium) | Thurs

TRICKS! TREATS! GIVE LOCAL KIDS A MEMORABLE HALLOWEEN!

This coming Halloween, local elementary school students will be visiting SFU’s Surrey campus to trick-or-treat. Offering a fun and safe Halloween experience on campus is a wonderful way to get to know the children of our closest communities, and it also helps break down barriers to post-secondary education.

We are recruiting 3 SFU students for the Halloween Trick or Treat Event Team Leader role. Departments across
campus will dress up, decorate their offices and welcome 500+ elementary school students to trick-or-treat. Student Tour Guides will lead groups of elementary school students from department to department, helping them experience the magic (and the treats) of a campus Halloween!

Your role:

As a Halloween Trick or Treat Event Team Leader, you will help recruit, coordinate, train, and manage the Student Tour Guides to lead children around SFU’s Surrey Campus. You will help manage a diverse team that represents different degree paths, campuses, activities, interests, etc. You will help train Student Tour Guides so they can effectively promote and personalize the university to community guests – youth, their families, and teachers as well as other guests to campus. Team Leaders will also support the sign-in process for the school groups on the day of the event. Above all, Team Leaders will facilitate a fun activity in a safe environment for all participants. Team Leaders are encouraged to dress up in an appropriate costume for the event.

Team Leaders are expected to be available to meet with the Program Manager during October (meeting dates TBD based on availability), and to lead training sessions with the Tour Guides (to be scheduled based on availability). Team Leaders are also required to be available for the entire event on Thursday, October 31st (8:00 am to 12:30 pm).
