Community engagement is incredibly important to Jasmine, and she is currently on the Board of Directors for the Simon Fraser University Alumni Association and regularly volunteers with SFU events. Previously, she served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for JDC West, the largest business case competition for undergraduate students in Western Canada. Jasmine is the Manager, People & Organization at Sony Pictures Imageworks, the award-winning visual effects and animation unit of the Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group, which is headquartered in Vancouver. She also loves to travel and has visited 30+ countries to date! Jasmine is excited to see this year's TEDxSFU team run an amazing event!

Nira Arora

Nira Arora has been a part of the media world since 1997.
She joined the 94.5 Virgin radio back in 2002 starting off as a traffic reporter and in just 2 years was the Co-Host of the Morning Show. She received her Communications and Political Science Degrees at Simon Fraser University- and her Journalism Diploma at BCIT.
Prior to radio, Nira worked across the entertainment industry. She was a host, reporter, writer, and producer for many different television shows, local magazines, and newspapers. She started at Rogers Multicultural, went on to Shaw, VTV, Channel M, and CTV. She wrote columns for several outlets and has been writing Nira’s Hot List for almost a decade, and, of course, continues to blog.
Nira plays an active role in the Community, volunteering her time for different charity events, including BC Children's Hospital, Canucks Place, The Salvation Army, United Way, and Covenant House.
