Overview

The class involved students working in groups of two working on NXT Lego Mindstorm kits to build various robots varying from sum robot, bipedal robots, to colored band detecting robots, to maze robots. Following are a few pictures and video of select few projects from the class.

Sumo Robot

Lego robots designed with weight and size restrictions with explicit purpose of pushing the opponent off the circular stage.

Bipedal Robot

Student designed lego robot capable of stepwise motion using only three degrees of freedom. The kinematic design was based on theory of the shift in center of gravity of the robot. Design achieved by using a servo motor to shift the lego NXT brick side to side, while servo motors in feet produce rotational motion.
