This game originated in the
CUTS-D research project 'Reflective Making: Higher-Order Learning in Early
Tertiary Architectural Education'. We wish to acknowledge the contribution
of the members of the CUTS-D team at the School of Architecture, Landscape
Architecture and Urban Design who participated in its creation and development.
The aims are as follows.
- gain an insight into some basic principles of Australian lightweight
construction techniques
- gain experience in deciding on appropriate member layouts, spans
and spacings
- gain experience in determining member spacings and sizes from load/span
tables
- develop an understanding of the relationships between aesthetic
aims and construction issues.
