Our group was given creative freedom over the creation of a short film of any genre. We brainstormed ideas before presenting a pitch to a small audience. From there, we gathered resources, and produced a short film. The documentation of the production was presented to the same small audience before the film itself was presented to a larger audience.

I created the story concept, writing the initial script, which was used for the pitch and I did a storyboard for the pitch as well. After the presentation, I edited the script again before passing it over to another team member to clean up. I did a final check of the script before creating the final storyboard that would be used on set, and having the script sent to the cast. I helped set up and maneuver the cameras on set, and during filming gave pointers to a few team member as well as gave opinions as to assist with on-set changes to the storyboard or script.

During post-production, I helped edit scenes, putting shots together and colour correcting. I worked closely with the primary sound editors to help fix syncing issues. I also created the ending credits with After Effects for the short film to suit the quaint-like yet unsettling atmosphere in the film. The final product of the film deviated slightly from my original storyboard under the director's vision.

This project allowed me to explore the process of film making. Through this project I experienced how to work at the pace of others, as well as relinquishing some creative control over my own original ideas. It was a great opportunity for me to see a concept transform from my imagination into an actual film.
