How it works

Okay, so here's what's happening...

Meet James. He's going on a trip to San Francisco with a few of his friends.

On their previous trips, they used Excel sheets to plan and organize their trip details. There were arguments on where to go and what to do.

That's why James and his friends are using TripCollab this time around.

To enter TripCollab, James logs in using the email address and password he chose when he set up his account.

My Trips

James is transported to the trips page where he can look back on past trips, and create or continue planning upcoming trips.

Joining a New Trip

If James wanted to create his own trip he could choose his destination and share it with friends but this time his friend, Daniel, has already created a trip for them. All he needs to do is type in the invite code and voila! He’s ready to start planning!

Overview

The Overview section is the central hub for the trip and James can use it to easily access important information and functions regarding the trip.

He can get notified about travel warnings, invite new members to the trip, and add new suggestions all from this one page.

Adding Suggestions

So James wants to suggest a restaurant they can eat at while in San Francisco. He can use the add suggestions feature to search for restaurants in the city. The app provides him with a short description, location, ratings, and an approximate cost so he can choose a restaurant he wants to eat at.

After adding a short reason why he wants to go to a particular place, James can add it to the Suggestions list for his friends to vote on.

Voting on Suggestions

In the Suggestions tab, James can vote on places his friends have suggested they visit during their trip. He can expand the cards to learn more about the location and why his friend wants to go there. Using swiping gestures or the thumbs up/down buttons, James can indicate whether or not he wants to visit these places.

If a suggestion recieves the majority number of votes, the location will be moved to the Checklist tab, ready for the group to visit.

Checklist

James can view all the suggestions that have made it through the voting process. He can tap on the location cards to bring up more details regarding the location.

P.S. Jenn can now rest easy knowing that the group will be visiting the Painted Ladies soon.
