Welcome! The 16th Spring Research Conference On Statistics in Industry and Technology will be held on May 27 - 29, 2009 in Vancouver, Canada.
Vancouver is home to spetacular natural scenery and a bustling metropolitan core, and boasts one of the mildest climates on the planet. It is surrounded by water on three sides and is nestled alongside the Coast Mountain Range.
The goal of the conference is to promote cross-disciplinary research
in statistical methods in engineering, science and technology.
This is to be interpreted broadly to cover a wide range
of application areas including environment, information
and manufacturing sciences.
The conference is intended to stimulate interactions
among statisticians, researchers in the application areas, and
industrial practitioners. It will provide a forum where participants can
describe current research, identify important problems and areas of
application, and formulate future research directions.
Student scholarships that cover registration fees and a majority of local living expenses are typically provided to selected graduate student attendees. These recipients are selected from students who submit contributed papers and ask to be considered for a scholarship.
