Reason
If you create an original piece of music you are protected by Canada’s copyright act. The copyright symbol © is not required, but can be a good idea to include it as a reminder to others to not copy your original work.
Kinds of consent
Provide your written consent to permit the University to use your original piece of music, if the music was not created as a requirement of your job, using the Consent and Release Form.
Options to publish
You can determine if you wish to apply limitations of use of your original piece of music (e.g., song).
Include your name in the multimedia credits or in the description area for social media: “Music created by [your name]”
