International Student Orientation

All new international undergraduate and graduate students beginning their studies at SFU this Fall 2024 are invited to our 3-part orientation series to get transition support and make connections.

What you can expect:

SIGN UP FOR THE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION o

Part 1: Information Session

Attend this virtual info session to learn about key topics to prepare for your time in Canada, and get your questions answered. Session topics include:

  • Immigration documents (study permits/visas) and travel requirements
  • Enrollment requirements and work eligibility (Enrollment requirements as they relate to study permit conditions and work eligibility only)
  • Medical insurance and supports (guard.me@SFU, BC MSP, Studentcare Health and Dental Plan)

Undergraduate Student Info Session

Graduate Student Info Session

Part 2: Student & Advisor Panel Session

Attend this live virtual session to get tips from current international students to make the most of your time at SFU and get your questions answered by advisors.

  • Student panelists represent international undergraduate and graduate experiences from various programs.
  • International Student Advisor panelists can answer your questions about immigration, medical insurance, support services at SFU, and more.
