Monthly Lunches

Are you an Indigenous student, staff or faculty member at SFU? If so, you are invited to Monthly Lunches, which are an opportunity for the SFU Indigenous community to connect with one another and share in a meal. These lunches will be student centered, giving students the chance to meet various faculty and staff.

These gatherings are hosted by the Indigenous Student Centre and First Nations, Métis & Inuit Student Association, and co-hosted by maybe you!?

Upcoming Lunch

June 18, 2024

This Month's Lunch will feature selections from the new SFU Rooted menu. Chef Steph Baryluk has created a menu inspired by Indigenous flavours; birch syrup salmon, bison stew, bannock and Three Sisters salad are a few of the treats we will be sharing. We hope you will join us! This event is for all students, faculty and staff who self-identify as Indigenous at SFU. Join us from 11:30am to 1:30pm to enjoy a meal and network with some amazing Indigenous folks. Learn more about the Rooted Food Program.

Date: June 18, 2024
Time: 11:30am - 1:30pm
Location: The Study (MBC, Burnaby Campus)

Host a Monthly Lunch

As we continue to grow and foster our community, we encourage other SFU departments and faculties to take lead in hosting these events. If your department is interested in hosting one of these gatherings, please email Treena Chamber, Indigenous Student Life Coordinator at treena_chambers@sfu.ca
