What is WinterReady?
WinterReady is an annual event held in November that aims to educate all members of the SFU community on the importance of winter preparedness.
Burnaby Mountain has a unique microclimate that makes it more susceptible to freezing temperatures and rapid weather changes compared to other areas of the Lower Mainland. Due to its elevation and geographical location, the mountain often experiences colder conditions, including icy roads and snowfall, even when lower-lying areas remain unaffected. These conditions can create challenging situations for commuting and navigating the Burnaby campus, making it essential for the SFU community to be well-prepared for the unpredictable winter weather.
