Abbreviation for Ultra High Frequency. That portion of the radio spectrum from 300 to 3000 mHz.
Much of the UHF band has been designated for television video broadcasting channels 13 - 84, with the audio component being broadcast in the VHF range. Mobile land radio also extends into the UHF range.
