Starting

This project is a continuity style video telling a complete story in under 3 minutes. After brain-storming, we decide to create a story that is something meaningful and might help audiences learn something. With using the Celtx software, I create the story - The Visit for the project.

Iteration - Storyboard

The first setp in this iteration is to generate a logline for the story, it is a one-sentence summary or description of a video. For our logline - A lazy man who lives at home is urged to clean the house in order to get ready for a lot of visitors. When an ominous doorbell signals the start of a desperate dash to finish cleaning things up, it turns to black as he watches in dread as the door squeaks open.

I develop the storyboard for various sequences that may be used in filming or final scripting after expanding the plot with more details to enhance the content. The storyboard can clearly express what I want to present in the video with visula language, and that helps my teammate to navigate the shot as well.

Iteration - Script

My teammate provided me with some input regarding their thoughts on the scene that we wanted to shoot after the storyboard was finished. I make some changes to the storyboard. The most crucial element is, however, to match the setting of the story with the actual scene, and our shooting location is an apartment. The parking lot is subterranean, the apartment is a one-bedroom suite, and much of my storyboard is set in a home. Therefore, we must adjust the content to match the region.

I combined all the feedback I got for the storyboard and the location info, create the final script for the video, the dialogue for the narrators, the scene cut and so on.

Reflection

The toughest issue in writing a script is coming up with a storyboard for the scene. Because everything is presented visually, people can better grasp what I'm trying to do with the shot, and others may offer feedback based on that and express their own ideas as well. The plot should work well with a variety of factors, not simply the narrators or the shooting equipment; settings and weather are also crucial. Even the conduct or emotion of the actor while filming will have an impact on the script. For example, I change some words while filming to fit the actor's behaviour as the narrator in order to create a better scenario.
