file-specification: specifies a valid Windows pathname or shortcut name.

Details

The NEWS system option specifies a file that contains messages to be written to the SAS log. The file can contain information for users, including news items about the SAS System.

The contents of the NEWS file are displayed in the SAS log immediately after the SAS header.
