-LMODE | -NOLMODE |
Details |
By default, if the DMS option is in effect and for some reason the SAS windowing environment cannot be run on your display, the SAS System prints a message indicating the nature of the problem and starts an interactive line mode session, if possible. If you still want to use the SAS windowing environment, issue the ENDSAS statement to terminate the session, correct the problem, and invoke the SAS System again.
When NOLMODE is in effect and the SAS windowing environment cannot be run, the SAS System prints a message indicating the nature of the problem and terminates.
The NOLMODE option is especially useful when using the X Interface to the SAS System, because the SAS windowing environment will most often not run if either the DISPLAY specification is wrong or the SAS System does not have permission to connect to your display.
