Specifies the number of bulk rows of SYBASE data to write to the buffer.

READ_BUFFER=numeric-value

numeric-value: specifies the number of rows which can be held in the buffer during read operations from SAS.

Details

This option improves performance by specifying a number of rows that can be held in memory for input into SAS. The maximum number of rows allowed is dependent on the amount of memory available to your system. Buffering data reads can decrease network activities and increase performance.

READ_BUFFER= can also be specified with the BUFFSIZE=, BUFSIZE=, and SYBBUFSIZE= aliases.
