The Spalek Laboratory of Attention, Memory and Perception is run by Drs Tom Spalek and Vince Di Lollo. We are located on SFU's Burnaby Mountain campus, and have lab spaces in the Academic Quadrangle and Robert C. Brown Buildings. Our main lab space and reception area is AQ 3138.1.
Our research interests and areas include: visual attention, memory, and perception; the attentional blink, inhibition of return, visual search, visual masking, re-entrant visual processing, the 're-activation positivity' (an EEG component), emotion and attention, emotion and memory and face and object processing, among other topics.
Our research involves several different methods and tools, including: behavioural, reaction-time and accuracy experiments; electroencephalography (EEG), eye-tracking, a high-fidelity driving simulator, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
