Dr. Peplak completed her PhD at the University of Toronto in 2020, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California-Irvine from 2020 to 2023. She studies children's moral-emotional development and is interested in understanding the factors that influence whether and the extent to which children respond with care and concern toward others, and the ways in which peers, parents, and teachers can promote children's kind emotions and behaviors within conversations. Dr. Peplak has published in high-impact developmental psychology journals, has collaborated on book chapters on children's social-emotional development, and has an extensive network of collaborators within North America, Europe, and East Asia. In her free time, she enjoys running and hiking in the mountains, playing music, and reading fiction on her balcony.
