Michael Howlett wins CAPPA Award for Excellence in Research

Congratulations to Michael Howlett, recipient of the 2023 Award for Excellence in Research from The Canadian Association of Programs in Public Administration (CAPPA). 

Professor Howlett is an internationally recognized political scientist and public policy scholar. He has been with the Department of Political Science since 1989 and holds a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Public Innovation for Climate Change. Howlett has had an extraordinary publication record including over 120 peer-reviewed journal articles, 100 book chapters, 22 edited books, and 6 authored books.

A fellow with the Royal Society of Canada, Howlett is a leading scholar at SFU and is widely recognized as a top scholar in his field. His academic leadership and influence can be seen in his citation record, his editorial history, and his mentorship of students in the department.
