Jessica Stockdale
Jessica Stockdale is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Simon Fraser University, where she specializes in mathematical and statistical modelling, data analytics, and genomic epidemiology.
Her research includes development of novel methods for outbreak data analysis, focusing on the integration of epidemiological and genomic information to understand and predict patterns of disease transmission. She is also interested in using modelling and analytics to solve healthcare operational challenges. Jessica completed her PhD in Statistics at the University of Nottingham, where she developed Bayesian computational methods for stochastic epidemic modelling. She moved to SFU in 2018, where during the COVID-19 pandemic she worked on various rapid response modelling projects in Canada and abroad.
