Veselin Jungic and Kseniya Garaschuk Named 2021 Canadian Mathematical Society Fellows
A belated congratulations to Veselin Jungic and Kseniya Garaschuk on their induction as 2021 Canadian Mathematical Society Fellows!
“The Fellowship recognises CMS members who have made excellent contributions to mathematical research, teaching, or exposition; as well as having distinguished themselves in service to Canada’s mathematical community" (Canadian Mathematical Society).
Veselin Jungic (he/him) is a Teaching Professor at Simon Fraser University and a highly regarded mathematical educator. He has received several awards including the 2012 CMS Excellence in Teaching Award and 2020 Adrien Pouliot Award. Veselin also runs the Math Catcher Outreach program to encourage young students in developing their interest and curiosity of mathematics.
Kseniya Garaschuk is an Assistant Professor at the University of the Fraser Valley and "a rising star in the field of mathematical education. She has been active in numerous committees for the Canadian Mathematical Society and UFV. She continuously participates in local and national conferences, organizes events, and actively publishes" (UFV - Mathematics and Statistics).
