Biography

Sonya Sabet-Rasekh received her B.A. in International Relations and Human Geography and her Law degree from the University of British Columbia. She articled with McGrady & Company and was called to the British Columbia Bar in January 2012.  Sonya practices in the areas of employment law, labour law, human rights, defamation law and civil litigation. She currently volunteers with the North Shore Community Services as a volunteer lawyer in their Legal Clinic program.

Prior to joining McGrady & Company, Sonya volunteered and worked at North Shore Community Resources as a legal advocate assisting individuals with their poverty law, employment law, and family law issues.  She also worked as a clinician at the UBC First Nations Legal Clinic where she worked with Aboriginal clients on their legal matters and appeared in administrative tribunals and the Provincial Court. 

Sonya is a member of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Trial Lawyers Association of B.C.
