Anil "Andy" Hira is Professor of Political Science at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC. He is the author or editor of 12 peer-reviewed books and special editions of journals and 49 articles and chapters, including What Makes Clusters Competitive? Cases from The Global Wine Industry (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2013). His research areas cut across comparative and global political economy and public policy. His research focus is examining how industrial, technology, and energy policy can be used to build globally competitive industries in a sustainable way. Forthcoming work includes examinations of public policy approaches to climate change and energy resource management and ways to ameliorate the conditions for workers in export industries in the developing world through improved public management.
